Shamanic Healing
Whether we are conscious of it or not we as human beings are constantly engaging with the world of energy (the invisible world) and matter (the visible world). Humans are spiritual beings in a physical body. We are familiar with our physical organs, bones, muscles, tissues, cells, etc., but we also have our energetic body, known as our Luminous Energy Field (some call it the aura). We also have meridian lines (rivers of light), our chakra centers which can be thought of as our energetic organs that for example, help us process energetic and spiritual experiences whether it be our joyous and/or painful life events. It is important for us to able to properly digest or heal from our traumatic life experience otherwise it is likely that our energy centers can become blocked or out of balance and as result our emotional, mental and physical health can become depleted and compromised.
Both of these bodies require great care for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. When health problems arise they are effectively treated at the level of the blueprint which is at our energetic bodies. At the energetic level we can find the source or root of problems and where things first began, or will begin to take form. At the energetic realm things can be healed at the deepest level and also seek to clear problems before they are born, therefore preventing it from manifesting on the physical body as disease at a later point in life.
Shamans are those individuals who practice ancient wisdom teachings and practices for healing and living in harmony with all life. Shamanism is not a religion but a spiritual practice and path. Shaman healers are mediators of the visible and invisible worlds, or spirit and matter. They work with great service and conscious Intent to dance between these the realms in order to bring wisdom, healing, and balance to themselves, their community and the world. Shamans remember that we as human beings are all part of the cosmic web of life, interconnected to everything in the universe, that we are co-creators our world, and that we are no different from the stars, the trees, the stones, the rivers, animals, great spirit, etc. Everything is animated with a spirit and we can use the strengths or medicine of all life forms with great reverence, as resources to enrich, empower, and fuel our journey through life.
As humans we innately want to live in balance, harmony, joy, with love, beauty, and creativity in our lives, but when we slip out of balance problems arise and our states of well-being are adversely affected. So our task is to find ways to reset ourselves into coming back into balance, regaining our states of well-being, and being conscious that we are always co-creating in our lives and we can choose new paths to create our greatest destiny.
Shamans know that we have to be in a place of right relationship with ourselves, our neighbors, the Earth, the universe in order for us to experience our highest destiny. So we do our personal healing work to bring healing into our lives. Shamans have many tools for bringing healing and balance into our lives and they not only delve into working at the energetic levels for deep healing and transformation, but they also know there is great power in working in ceremony and ritual to achieve great results at the level of the soul.
It is in these symbolic processes of ceremony and ritual that allows us to bypass the chatter and traps of the mind and ego so that it can quietly rest in the background and then what is able to fully show up and step forward to center stage is our soul, or our essential self in order to work in ceremony and allow healing, magic, and synchronicity to flow into our lives and healing spaces.
Healing at the level of the energetic source and soul is important because it can efficiently release you out of the various roles we get stuck in whether that of victim, persecutor, or rescuer. It helps us to drain the momentum and charge of pain and trauma, and in the process transmute it. It allows you to make contact with your soul and allow the soul to speak and heal in the language of energy. This process helps us step out of the cycle of drama and the various roles that we play in our lives that create unhealthy relationships to people, stories, memories, etc.
The Triangle of Disempowerment shown below shows us how we bind ourselves in toxic roles that don't serve us and deplete our energy. We can choose to take responsibility in how we react to life circumstances and choose to step off the Triangle. We can choose forgiveness and compassion and bypass the triangle and know that we can always take the role of hero/heroine. These healing techniques and practices are spiritual and sacred alchemy of the soul, transmuting wounds into sources of power, strength, compassion and wisdom.
